Award-Winning Professor

Learning Space Dedicated to Dr. Robert B. Tallitsch

I retired from Augustana College in June of 2018. On October 5th, 2019 a learning space in the new wing of Hanson Hall of Science was dedicated in my name. This dedication of a space in my name was initiated by alumni of Augustana College that I had the pleasure of teaching during my time at Augustana. I was, and still am humbled by this honor from my students and from Augustana.

Robert Tallitsch Awarded the Unofficial Teacher of the Year Award by Graduating Seniors

Augustana College has a long-standing tradition of asking graduating seniors to vote for up to three faculty members to present a “Last Lecture” during senior week. Faculty members that have been given this honor have viewed this award as the “Unofficial Teacher of the Year Award,” as conveyed by the graduating seniors of Augustana College.

I was blessed to be given this award by a vote of the graduating seniors 20 out of my last 22 years on the faculty before I retired in 2018. To me, this award is the highest and greatest award that a faculty member may be given simply because it is given by the students.

Two of my last lectures may be viewed at the following links:
